LUNG.5 AND 6 ACUPUNCTURE POINT

LUNG.5 also known as Chize in Chinese, and In English it is called Cubit Marsh. It is a water point of the lung channel and is used to cool heat, tonify yin and moisten dryness.

On physical level it can treat -

Pneumonia, tonsilitis acute bronchitis, and asthma either due to lung heat, phlegm heat, or deficient yin.

On a mental and spiritual level this point can bring flexibility to a stubborn and rigid mind and spirit or it can reinforce resilience and grit. Lung.5 is for those who are stuck with overwhelming grief disturbing their spirit. Deficient yin can make a person agitated and frustrated lung.5 can bring inner peace and calm. Lungs become full by walking fast, in the same way, a person becomes agitated when full of aggressive energy, lung.5 can provide inner focus to a person who is rigid and agitated.

This point regulates the water channels and benefits the bladder.

LUNG.6, Kongzui or collection hole in English is an accumulation point used for acute problems of the lungs.

On physical level-it treats asthma, bronchitis, fever due to stagnant lung Qi, lung heat and retention of phlegm heat in the lungs.

On the mental and spiritual level- when a person feels disconnected from the source either due to failure of the descending power of the lungs or if the person is bogged down by grief for a long time. This point can provide richness with sufficient energy and blood to the lungs.

As a Xi-cleft point, energy and blood gather here so it is useful to give this point when it is most needed as in acute conditions to provide nourishment and strength. All Xi-cleft points are useful for recharging or moving pain or blockage along the specific channel on which they are located.
